watching the real world denver finale. "the people who mind dont matter; and the people who matter dont mind". oh so true colie, ya horn dog, oh so true.
everyone's having their breakdowns as they're leaving.
that's what we're going to have to deal with on the 29th of june. some of those guys are going to have to work that out at the airport on june 30th cus they're all leaving together.
[brooke has a caravan worth of luggage]
we're so looking forward to going home and seeing fam again that we have barely given thought to saying goodbye to each other - not to mention having to meet the new people.
[brooke's parents are enablers and they both need a backhand to the face]
its going to be kind of sad when we all split up at the end of june. although, i get to look forward to seeing jacy and tasha again. and donita doesn't have to worry about at least the 3 of us! i'm gonna miss neelam, michelle and ben when they go.
its really fortunate that it worked out that we were all around the same age and get along fairly well. cc is an anomaly. (although i hear that he was the norm in years past).
aaaaaaaaaaanyway
went jogging around the savannah today with jacy. kinda walk/jog actually. finally wore those aritzia pants intentionally to do some actual WORKING OUT.
(i wore the black ones to these, with a shirt of course)
the title i COULD have had would be "since when do you jog?!" or "the savannah: worlds largest roundabout and best free gym"
there are so many things to see when you're jogging around. tons of other people (women mainly) are out jogging or walking with friends. there are at least 3 games of rugby and/or football happening. there are street vendors every 30 paces - coconuts, oysters (?!), corn, corn soup, food (almost stopped for pholourie).
its not as boring as going around the same track 20 times and seeing the same boring spots on the wall as when you run an indoor track.
my legs hurt. i'm so out of shape. stretching afterwards was nice. plus, there's the natural airconditioning of evening breezes. all this for FREE!
i'm always down with free.
[yeah you know me!]
i'm looking forward to doing this next week.
plus it was cool to hang out with jacy cus she's easy and laid-back like me. and, we're in the same situation relationship-wise too so we have that to talk about as well. in fact, the whole time we were there we barely talked about work which was grrrrrrrrrreat! sometimes i avoid hanging out with work people because we always fall into talking about work during outtings.
speaking of work
today i was draaaaaaained. but, the AC IS WORKING AGAIN! hallelujah and praises. i can now stop rotating my skirts and start wearing pants occasionally! and socks too!
i'm really excited about the work i've assigned. i saw some good things in their conferences today. it really helped to have the student teacher in the room to handle some of their questions.
random: so i heard a new damian marley (?) song today. an analogy about being unprepared. something about a thousand chariots going forward...without horses. why did i hear this song? while working?
because i had to settle a dispute between 2 sides of boys who were trying to decipher the words the artist (reggae) was singing.
"MISS! listen to this and tell me if you hear a 1000 horses!!"
"....whaaa?"
maybe that should have been my title... hmmm...
and last but not least,
what's up with people who were your good friends in high school saving you as friends in facebook, but never ever replying to any message you send them?
what are you supposed to think when you catch up with long lost andy mcphee, and you send him a message saying "hey whats up what's new?" [the obligatory catchup message] and he ignores it... but then the next day you see that he's replied to 3 of your other common friends?
maybe its like that oprah book club text on male-female relationships: he's just not that into you. hm.
i'm about to do some hardcore deleting. cus i dont want to get updates on someone's life if they can't be bothered to even say hi to me. it's all this trinidad courtesy rubbin off on me. i warmed myself up by putting people on limited. but it should be a delete. one time.
i think i'll do that ONE time.
cus the people who matter wont mind (they'll have my number/email) and the people who dont' matter wont.
